PORT-AU-PRINCE – Mr. David Lindwall, Chargé dAffaires for the United States Embassy, visited the Task Force Bon Voizen soldiers at the task force reception station to commend them on the work they have begun in the vicinity of Gonaives.

Afterward, Lindwall accompanied the task force commander, Col. Kenneth Donnelly, Louisiana National Guard, U.S. Army, on a helicopter tour of the area where the task force will be working. Lindwall was pleased with the progress he witnessed and noted how this years work will build on the work begun last year by Task Force Kout Men, also led by the Louisiana National Guard.

Lindwall pledged the support of the U.S. Embassy to the task force mission, telling Donnelly how critical the mission was to the immediate needs of the Haitians living in the operational area and to the long-term friendship of Haiti and the United States.

Several-thousand citizens settled in this area after the destruction of their homes and livelihoods following the earthquake of Jan. 12, 2010.
