Joint Staff


The LANG-J1 provides overall human resource strategic planning, integration, analysis, manpower and personnel policy, and oversight for the Director of the Joint Staff and The Adjutant General of Louisiana in order to enhance Louisiana National Guard and Joint Force Headquarters initiatives, personnel readiness, operational capabilities and sustainment of the Louisiana National Guard Community.


The JFHQ-LA J2 advises The Adjutant General as well as Joint Force Headquarters-ID (JFHQ-LA) staff on all intelligence related matters to include, but not limited to, current intelligence, foreign (as it relates to the US) and domestic threat information, situational awareness, intelligence policy for the JFHQ-LA, intelligence functional areas, joint intelligence policy programs, and Special Security Office (SSO) operations. The J2 also manages the personnel, information and physical security (AA&E) programs, as well as exercises policy and oversight for all Communications Security programs.

Operations and Planning

The J-3 is responsible for assisting the Louisiana Command Group in the direction and control of all Louisiana National Guard operations. The J-3 conducts this mission through planning, coordinating, information sharing and integrating all aspects of Louisiana National Guard operations. These operations include, but are not limited to, training, force integration, readiness, mobilization, and domestic operations including congressionally mandated programs, the Counter-Drug Program and the Weapons of Mass Destruction – Civil Support Team Program.


The J-4 serves as the primary adviser to the IDARNG for all logistics matters to include, but not limited to supply, maintenance, transportation, acquisition logistics, installation/facility and environmental issues. The mission of the J-4 is to participate in joint matters at the strategic level with the Office of the Secretary of Defense, Joint Chiefs of Staff, other defense agencies and the Combatant Commands in support of the National Security Strategy, the national Homeland Security Strategy, and other Department of Defense (DoD) strategies, guidance, directives, deliberate and crisis action plans and contingency operations.


The J-6 will provide high quality, effective and affordable information technology services to the Soldiers, Airmen and civilians of the Louisiana National Guard. Our focus is to ensure commanders can exceed all standards in performing their state and worldwide federal mission.

J8 – Force Structure, Resources & Assessment
Responsible to Louisiana National Guard for resource oversight, guidance, policy, procedures, and assessments.

    This is for the J3. I am the Deputy J5 for the Idaho National Guard, trying to find examples of Management Internal Control Evaluations and checklists for the Youth ChalleNGe Program. If you LANG has any examples of checklists used to complete 11-2s I would be grateful if I could review and possibly plagiarize. Thank you.
