Suicide Prevention Awareness Video

September is Suicide Prevention Awareness month.

Suicide is a major public health problem.

This video contains messages from around the Louisiana National Guard regarding how to identify and assist someone who may be thinking about harming themselves.

Remember, if you are concerned about someone you know, and you think they may be considering suicide, you can ACT to prevent it.

A – Ask the question: “Are you thinking of killing yourself?”

C – Care for your fellow Guardsman: Listen with compassion and voice your concern

T – Take action: Seek professional help

If you, or someone you know, is thinking about suicide, you can follow the information at the end of the video, or you can contact the National Suicide Prevention Hotline at 1-800-273-TALK (800-273-8255). This number can be dialed toll-free from 24 hours a day, seven days a week.
