The Louisiana National Guard Counterdrug Drug service members, in support of Law Enforcement agencies, may use ground and aerial platforms, within the United States, to conduct reconnaissance and observation to detect, characterize, locate, track, and assess specific people, objects, or areas, in real or near real-time.
Aerial Reconnaissance is a law enforcement support mission undertaken to obtain information about the activities and resources of LEA-developed targets by visual, ground sensor, or electro-optical/infrared means. Our aerial assets have the capability to secure data concerning the meteorological, hydrographic, and geographic characteristics of a particular area.
Aerial Observation is a law enforcement support mission involving the observation and determination of precise, up to date coordinates for LEA-developed targets that may include suspicious buildings, vehicles, vessels, or persons in the United States.
