PINEVILLE, La. – Maj. Gen. Glenn H. Curtis, adjutant general of the Louisiana National Guard, presents the Purple Heart combat decoration to Spc. Thomas J. Healy of Killen, Texas, at an official ceremony at Camp Beauregard in Pineville, La., Nov. 13. Healy received the decoration for injuries he sustained when an improvised explosive device struck the convoy he was a member of while conducting convoy security operations in Afghanistan.
