PINEVILLE, La. – Maj. Gen. Glenn H. Curtis, adjutant general of the Louisiana National Guard, presents the Purple Heart combat decoration to Spc. Williams Hernandez of Kenner, La., at an official ceremony at Camp Beauregard in Pineville, La., Nov. 13. Hernandez received the decoration for injuries he sustained when an improvised explosive device struck the convoy he was a member of while conducting convoy security operations in Afghanistan.
