La. Guard conducts anti-terrorism exercise in Plaquemine

NEW ORLEANS – The Louisiana Army National Guard’s 256th Brigade Special Troops Battalion conducted an anti-terrorism validation exercise in accordance with Department of Defense policy, at their Plaquemine, La., armory, Sept. 25.

 

This exercise was a coordinated event to train all participants and ensure successful coordination between agencies in an effort to deter terrorist incidents, employ countermeasures and mitigate the effects of a terrorist incident.

 

As part of the LANG’s anti-terrorism plan, multiple agencies participated in the exercise including members of the 256th BTSB, Louisiana State Police Explosive Ordnance Disposal unit, Plaquemine Police Department, Plaquemine Fire Department, Iberville Parish Sheriff’s Office, Iberville Parish Emergency Operation Center, and Acadian Ambulance.
