La. Guard welcomes home Soldiers from overseas

BATON ROUGE, La. – The Louisiana National Guard’s 205th Engineer Battalion and the 922nd Engineer Company returned to family and friends during two welcome-home events at the Baton Rouge Metropolitan Airport, Dec. 16 and 17.

More than 150 Soldiers with the 205th, based out of Bogalusa and Hammond, La., and an additional 150 Soldiers from the 922nd, based out of Gonzales, La., completed their 365-day deployment to Kuwait where they provided command and control of engineer construction operations in the Kuwait Theater of Operations.

The 205th and 922nd conducted mobilization training together at Fort Bliss, Texas, before deploying overseas. These units have participated in numerous response and recovery operations in this state, as well as other deployments overseas.
